NATURE RESERVES
Upper Orchid Field - Insectopia

Our first themed area was originally designed to show visitors what they could do in their gardens to attract insects including:

‘Bee homes’ made from logs with holes drilled in them or straws or bamboo for solitary bees or wasps. (If you want them to be used by insects place them in the open preferably in a sunny aspect).

Stag Beetle buckets buried in the ground for the larvae.

Plastic lemonade bottles, partly water-filled, for rat-tailed maggots.
