Parks

There are several parks locally which, as green spaces, also have wildlife interest.

The main park in the centre of the village is Grange Park with mature Scots Pine and Horse Chestnut (which is good for bats).
The Playing Fields off Station Road east are mainly grass for football or cricket but the area contains a Community Orchard with traditional fruit trees, a pond and newly-planted 15 species hedgerow. A traditional hedge surrounds the area with mainly Hawthorn and Blackthorn but there are  many trees on the perimeter including Oak, Ash, Goat Willow, Cherry and Field Maple.

There are also two small parks, one containing the war memorial by the Wenvoe Arms, the second at Twyn-yr-Odyn.
